Your information, handled with purpose.

This policy explains what the Vertcie website and Shopify connector collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy applies to www.vertcie.com, the private Vertcie Portal available through that website, and the Vertcie Digital Merchandising Shopify connector. It does not govern separate customer applications or websites that publish their own privacy notices.

Information we collect

Contact requests. When you contact Vertcie, we collect the name, email address, company, role, topic, and message you provide. We also record the submission time, browser user-agent, and network-forwarding information such as an IP address so we can operate the inbox, investigate abuse, and maintain security.

Correspondence. We keep replies and internal notes connected to a contact record so Vertcie can maintain the history and context of a business conversation.

Business contacts and company research. Vertcie may maintain a limited business contact record containing a name, work email address, company, source, and correspondence status. We intentionally omit imported phone and postal address fields from this workflow. We may research publicly available company information to understand products and prepare a possible, human-reviewed introduction. Contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, and postal addresses are not submitted to the company-research service.

Campaign and relationship records. Vertcie may associate a business contact with a reviewed campaign draft, delivery status, explicit engagement, and a company-level product reconciliation. A campaign link does not register engagement merely because it was opened. Requesting a full analysis requires an email address; viewing the completed private report requires a first and last name, matching email address, company, and phone number. Reports may contain reviewed public product, image, SKU, and tooling findings and can be exported by authorized portal administrators.

Email subscriptions and engagement. If you expressly subscribe to marketing email, we store your email address, optional name, consent source, consent time, and subscription status. When a Vertcie email uses a tracked website link, we may record an anonymous recipient reference, destination, referrer, browser user-agent, and click time. Contact-form submissions are not automatically treated as marketing consent.

Website analytics. Vertcie uses first-party analytics to understand visits and improve the site. A visit may include a first-party browser and session identifier, IP address, available reverse-DNS or network information, page and campaign parameters, referring domain, approximate location supplied by the hosting network, browser and device characteristics, display size, language, time zone, connection category, and page-load timing. We may also record interactions such as section and scroll visibility, active time, link and button clicks, form starts, validation and submission outcomes, video progress, configurator and AI-assistant activity, performance measurements, and client-side errors. Form-field values and AI question text are not included in these analytics events. We use this information to count unique and repeat visitors, understand traffic sources and content use, improve conversion paths, troubleshoot performance, and detect abuse. We do not use a third-party advertising pixel for this measurement.

Portal accounts. For authorized Vertcie administrators, we process account identifiers, email addresses, authentication state, and security records needed to protect the private portal.

AI chat.When you use the optional on-site chat, the questions you submit and relevant page context are sent to OpenAI through Vertcie's server to generate a response. Do not submit confidential, regulated, or sensitive personal information through the chat.

Shopify connector

When a merchant installs Vertcie Digital Merchandising, we process the Shopify store domain, installation permissions, authentication tokens and expiration information needed to connect the store. Shopify authentication sessions may also include the authorizing staff member's account identifier, name, email address and account-owner status.

The connector stores product configuration choices and summaries, publication identifiers and revisions, product and variant identifiers, prices and pricing-rule references. We use these records to validate approved product choices, prepare configured products and preserve selected options in the Shopify cart. Configuration imagery may be uploaded to Shopify for display with the product. The connector exchanges this product data with Vertcie and the merchant's Shopify store; AWS hosts the connector and its database. Requests to hosted services and content delivery providers also involve network information needed to deliver and secure those services.

The connector does not request Shopify customer or order API access or maintain a customer or order database. Its stored selections contain approved product options, not customer-entered personal text. Shopify processes checkout contact, delivery and payment information under its own privacy terms and the merchant's store policies.

When Shopify sends a shop-redaction request after uninstall, we delete the connector's active database records for that store, including authentication sessions, saved configurations and product/variant mappings. Customer privacy requests are authenticated and handled according to the data the connector stores; their personal fields are not retained by the connector. Active database deletion does not immediately remove historical backups, which remain subject to the hosting retention schedule. Uninstalling does not delete the merchant's independent Vertcie account or records controlled by the merchant in Shopify.

For questions or requests concerning connector data, contact support@vertcie.com. We may need to verify your authority over the affected store or account. The rights, security and international-processing provisions below also apply to connector information.

How we use information

  • Respond to inquiries and maintain business correspondence.
  • Research companies and prepare restrained, human-reviewed business introductions without automatic sending.
  • Record explicit campaign engagement and prepare requested product-content reconciliation reports.
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and private portal.
  • Send requested service communications and consented marketing communications.
  • Measure engagement with Vertcie emails and website content.
  • Detect spam, abuse, unauthorized access, and technical failures.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect Vertcie, its customers, and other people.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to respond to your request, perform or prepare for a contract, pursue legitimate business and security interests, comply with law, or act with your consent.

Service providers and external services

Vertcie uses Amazon Web Services, including AWS Amplify, Amazon Cognito, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, and Amazon SES, to host the website, secure portal access, store records and assets, and deliver email. These providers process information for Vertcie under their applicable terms and safeguards.

The optional AI chat and the private portal's company-only research workflow use OpenAI's API. The company-research workflow sends company names, domains, and public website URLs, not contact identity or contact details. Review the OpenAI Privacy Policy before using it. Links to social platforms take you to services governed by their own privacy policies. Vertcie’s server-side syndication sends selected published company News content to Vertcie’s LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X accounts; it does not send contact-form or visitor records to those platforms.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and security, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of business assets. Vertcie does not sell personal information or use this website for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and local storage

Vertcie does not currently operate third-party advertising pixels on this website. First-party analytics stores a random visitor identifier in local storage and a random session identifier in session storage so visits can be counted without using an email address or account. Authentication and private-report access may use short-lived cookies or browser storage needed for security, session management, and functionality. The optional AI chat does not require a third-party browser SDK or its browser storage. You can limit cookies or clear browser storage through your browser settings; doing so resets the analytics identifier and may prevent portal or private-report features from working correctly.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, maintain business and correspondence records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the website. Retention depends on the record and its purpose. We may delete or anonymize records when they are no longer needed.

Vertcie uses administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated portal access and encrypted network connections. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about how your personal information is used. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and legal exceptions may apply.

You can ask to stop receiving marketing email at any time. Transactional or direct correspondence about an active request may continue when appropriate.

Children and international processing

This business website is not directed to children, and Vertcie does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where Vertcie’s service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the website and its services change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
